I'm a few months post-baby and just need to get back into things.... would like a mile under 7:30. 5k under 24. Just run more regulary.

Personal:

I'm from everywhere. My dad, dad-in-law, and brothers are in the Army. I like chocolate, Nascar (Hendrick Motor Sports), and my husband. We have a beautiful little girl who cracks us up!

Probably won't get to run today... but planning to start tomorrow when the hubby will be home to watch the baby. Just did 30 minutes of cardio kickboxing in the living room instead. Maybe if the man gets off work early tonight, I'll get out for a short one. We'll see.

Went out with the jogging stroller today. So glad there was finally such nice weather. Walked for a while, then did short intervals to keep myself from turning around and going home to early... 2 min jog, then 1 min walk.... for a total of 30 minutes (on top of the initial walking of about 15 min)... Anyway, the total distance was 3 miles, and I probably ran about 1.7 of those, maybe a little more.

Felt okay, but I need to be more aware of keeping hydrated before I go out. I always seem to forget that when I'm getting back into running, so I did get a little cramping. This was my first real time out with the stroller... I'll have to get used to holding my shoulders and arms right while pushing it.. but it wasn't bad for a first day. The little one loved it, then fell asleep, so I'm satisfied with it altogether.

30 minutes kickboxing in the evening. Pretty tiring, but fun.

Probably won't get out for a run today, but took the baby upstairs and did about 30 minutes of toning with a friend. We were both sore from yesterday's workouts, but it felt good to do something.

Got to go out without the stroller today, which was pretty nice.... significantly easier, I thought, (which is actually a little sad because I know most days I'll probably have the stroller in the future). But anyway, I did intervals again. A total of 30 minutes workout, 20 of them running 10 walking, but the running intervals varied between 3 and 6 minutes this time, so that I can gradually get into continual running and cut out the walking intervals. I hate that I have to start so gradually.... but it seems that having a baby can really do a number on your body. The workout felt good though... nice day overall.

Went to the indoor track this morning. Pushed the stroller around and tried to add some more variation to the runs from earlier in the week: Walked 5 min for warmup, then ran 5, walked 1, ran 4, walked 1, ran 4, walked 2, ran 8, walked 2, ran 3... then walked around a couple more minutes until Adam was done and could take the baby while I try sprinting a lap for fun. It was the short track (for 7 and 1/7 laps to the mile), and I ran it in one minute. It felt good to really get the legs going, and I know I had a lot more left in me when I finished. But you know... just over 7 minute pace isn't too bad in my mind, considering that my normal pace is usually 10 min or slower. Felt good.... got me excited for more. So yeah, total of 25 minutes running today, and 13ish walking. I'm guessing probably just over 3 miles total.
